GP Academy Letter 250908: Fibs, Coverups and Whoppers

Dear Friend,

Thank you for allowing me to insult you yesterday. As expected, I lost a couple of subscribers. But a well-pruned tree is a healthy tree!

Today I propose that we partner up and create a list of those areas in which we have been deceived during our lives by that criminal cartel and hotbed of fraud and corruption that we lovingly refer to as the federal government.

This is indeed a Brobdingnagian task since the government has been lying to us, nonstop, since we were born.

Note that I didn’t say “our” government since the limited operation envisioned by those who framed the Constitution bears no resemblance to the monstrosity currently occupying Washington, D.C.

I thought it would be fun to make a list of deceptions and then, like Salsa sauce, sort it into three major categories: (A) minor deceits (mild), (B) major cover ups (hot) and (C) industrial strength whoppers (spicy!).

Let me first focus this project.

If you truly believe in free speech, you support the right of those whose views you detest to say whatever they like. They, in kind, welcome your choice to totally ignore them.

If you truly support free thought, you welcome open investigation into all areas of intellectual pursuit, even those that you consider sacrosanct, off limits for discussion and exempt from investigation.

I say this only because the mere existence of this list is going to get some of you a little hot under the collar. But prune we must!

I’ll get started on this project today. In the meantime, feel free to reply with your own list and I’ll compile your contributions into a master list and publish it soon. Your identity will, of course, be kept confidential.
