Notes From Gordon ~ The End Of Utopia

The End Of Utopia

I sat down the other day for a pleasant afternoon nap and, as I dozed off, I began dreaming about utopia.

Not utopia defined as “an imaginary community or society that possesses highly desirable or near-perfect qualities for its members,” but Utopia as a nation on Terra, the third planet orbiting a modest Class G star in a modest galaxy called the Milky Way.

((-:¦:- -:¦:- …getting very sleepy… -:¦:- …now dreaming of Utopia... -:¦:- -:¦ ))

With established military bases in over 200 other nations—and with a military force the equal of all other nations combined—Utopia is presently the “alpha nation” on planet Terra.

The majority of working class Utopians share common, cultural addictions such as obsession with celebrities, the consumption of large amounts of pornography, the use of recreational drugs and copious hours of televiewing entertainment each week.

They take great pleasure in spending their evenings in front of a large, electronic visual and aural stimulation device which they situate prominently in their living room, although many Utopians have additional if somewhat smaller devices in their bedrooms and offices as well.

This device, called a Telebeam, casts a soft white light upon Utopians as they sit on their sofas and bathe in its hypnotic glow.

The Telebeam provides endless hours of vacuous amusement for Utopians who seek its comfort as much as they do the various factory-made comfort foods they consume while watching it.

Literacy rates have fallen dramatically in Utopia in recent decades such that today’s Utopian tends to consume his or her information tribally, through spoken recordings called “podcasts,” and via moving images viewed on media platforms such as TikTok, YouTube and Vimeo.

Utopians tend to be woefully deficient in math skills and rely upon ubiquitous, hand held electronic devices which include the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Because most Utopians are ignorant of history, they are unaware of the form of government they live under, thinking that it’s a democracy—and equally unaware that democracies always deteriorate into socialism and, ultimately, fascism.

Over 90% of Utopian parents enroll their children in government funded, socializing centers called public schools where history and “social studies” are sanitized to omit mention of facts that would tend to cast an unfavorable light on their government.

Because they have come to depend on their government for subsidized food, housing, transportation, medications and other necessities, Utopians typically vote for those politicians who will promise them the most benefits.

The leaders of Utopia use the Telebeam to implant subconscious thoughts into the heads of Utopians, including predictive programming that serves to prepare the public at a subconscious level for psychological operations to come.

In this way, the public’s reaction to these managed future events can be observed, monitored and controlled beforehand, well in advance of when they are scheduled to occur.

The average working Utopian earns 50,000 currency units each year, called Utopian Reserve Notes (URNs) and printed by the Utopian Reserve System—a private banking cartel that is owned by a handful of powerful Utopian families.

The average Utopian will work for 40 years, earning a total of 2,000,000 URNs during a working lifetime, yet will pay as much as 1,000,000 URNs—fully 50% of their lifetime earnings—in taxes, fees, fines, interest payments and the greatest tax of all—inflation which erodes the purchasing power of their labor from decade to decade.

Nonetheless, Utopians consider themselves to be the freest people on Terra.

Tears well up in their eyes as they watch the warm-up to the Super Bowl, an annual sporting event in which athletic Utopians run up and down a playing field carrying a small, inflated leather ball.

This highly anticipated spectacle involves the mass singing of the Utopian national anthem, and features soldiers marching in military formation on the playing field as military jets fly overhead, trailing red, white and blue smoke, the national colors of The People’s Republic of Utopia.

But all things must come to an end.

Nature has its own way of curing hubris and other existential error, and of returning life to the perfect path that was created for its existence.

Indeed, the convergence of economic, political and war cycles predicts a dire future for Utopia.

But not for the remnant of farsighted Utopians who are well-educated, kind, generous, deeply supportive of each other and thoroughly familiar with the true history of Utopia.

These forward thinking individuals seek to school their own children, grow their own food, generate their own electricity and share services and resources with other Utopians in a mutual network of camaraderie and support.

They refer to themselves as Divergents in the sense of having diverged from the mainstream.

(( -:¦:- -:¦:- SNAP!!! -:¦:- …yawn… -:¦:- …stretch… -:¦:-  …rub eyes... -:¦:- -:¦  ))

Wow, that was a heck of a dream… and so real!

Thank God we don’t live in Utopia.

Now that I’m back to the real world I thought I’d mention that I offer financial risk and other preparatory consulting services for families who anticipate a troublesome future for Utopia, excuse me, I meant to say for America—and are uncertain as to the best path forward.

Care to diverge?
