The RISE Reader: Panic & Petroglyphs

Dear Friend,

One can only imagine how terribly frightening the world must have appeared to our ancient ancestors who feared with each new day that the hot, bright disc in the sky that brought them light, warmth and food, only to disappear each evening, might not visit them again the following morning.

To propitiate this capricious sky god, children would be sacrificed on altars or thrown into active volcanoes.

Clearly this was a good gig for the priests and shamans who alone could communicate with the disc and let the trembling, tithing tribe know when to cue up another sacrifice.

Now imagine that one day, the sky god suddenly expands until it covers the entire sky.

Shortly thereafter comes the sound of a thunderous explosion that rocks the ground beneath them.

Everything on the surface ignites and instantly combusts as the quick witted scramble into deep caves to escape from the incinerating heat, cosmic rays, gamma rays and ultraviolet radiation.

The event is so loud, so violent, so shocking and so utterly devastating that astonished survivors later etch pictures of what they saw into solid rock.

And more than a few pictures.

Millions, actually, all over the world.

They’re called petroglyphs and they depict the exact, same formations that can be seen in high-voltage plasma generators.

Curious?
